This grant funds an indoor herb garden that students will maintain (and take home in the summer). MHS, $180

Spring 2022, MHS Student Newspaper
This grants builds off of the 2019 pilot program for printed school newspapers. This funds getting printed editions of the school paper into circulation. MHS, $800
Spring 2022, Similarity Awareness
This grant brings the Similarity Awareness program run by UNH’s Northeast Passage to EES. EES, $1404.71
Spring 2022, Elements of Style
This grant addresses an area of pandemic learning loss with regard to writing clearly and effectively. It implements the use of “The Elements of Style” in AP English. MHS, $750
Fall 2021, Strong Girls
This grant helps to bring the “Strong Girls” program to MGWS. This program is intended to help girls who struggle with self-esteem, body image, and anxiety believe in themselves. MGWS, $1275
Fall 2021, Marshwood Marine Science Aquaria
This grant supports establishing saltwater aquariums in the Marine Biology classroom (one warm/tropical and one cold/local species). MHS, $550
Fall 2021, Not Dis-Abilities, POSS-IBILITIES
This grants provides the chorus and music students with the opportunity to experience and understand a variety of physical and sensory challenges that some people face every day. MMS, $875
Fall 2021, Reading Buddy in a Basket
This grant is designed to enhance kindergarten students’ experience with reading by providing book baskets with matching stuffed animals. CES, $500
Fall 2021, Text for English Composition
Funds the purchase of “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” to teach modes of writing. MHS, $586
Spring 2021, GWS Stewards of the Local Land
Funds the extension of outdoor learning beyond the school grounds (relationship with Mt. Agamenticus Conservation Program) to support a connection to nature and to gain understanding of the human impact on the environment. MGWS, $144
Spring 2021, Sound Design for Film Studies
This grant funds the audio equipment for additional courses and the expansion of Film Studies. MHS, $715
Spring 2021, FRAX Fraction Learning Game for Great Works
This grant funds the subscription for a new math game that the students LOVE. MGWS, $331.67
Spring 2021, Marshwood Messages: A Community Service Letter Writing Campaign
The project is an outreach program designed to teach students the importance of engaging in small acts of kindness. This teaches the importance of reaching out to those in need especially during this pandemic. MGWS, $250
Spring 2021, ZEARN to Learn
This grant funds ZEARN (Interactive Digital Math Platform) for all EES students for the remainder of the school year (2020-2021) and next (2021-2022). This subscription is serving as a pilot to determine the usefulness of having access to detailed and individualized assessment reports relative to specific areas of achievement and needed interventions that are tailored to individual students. Spring 2021, MMS Zoom Recorders
This grant funds Zoom H4n recorders that allow student to record in any space without the need for complicated setups. This device also allows for quick playback so students can listen to their performance and talk about what can be improved upon and what went well. MMS, $450
Spring 2021, Love in a Box of Crayons
This project provides students access to age appropriate tools, books, and discussions to gain understanding, confidence, and feel empowered. Each child at EES received their own set of Crayola “Colors of the World” multicultural crayons, markers, or colored pencils. The art room was stocked with “Colors of the World” markers. Classroom teachers received a copy of The World Needs More Purple People to read and discuss. In addition the School nurse’s office received a supply of multicultural band-aids. EES, $1468.31
Spring 2020, Marshwood Merry Makers
This grant supports the efforts of the Merry Makers who made crafts, cards, and gifts to be donated to the House of Hope. This provides a creative and philanthropic opportunity that teaches students to practice global citizenship. MGWS, $267
Spring 2020, Civil Rights Through Literature
This grant purchases age-appropriate, quality and diverse literature to add to the classroom read-aloud libraries that address our country’s civil rights history as well as celebrate our country’s diversity and the contributions of those who are often left out of our history’s retelling. Our goal is to increase awareness of our country’s history of civil rights in an age-appropriate way. CES, $1500
Spring 2020, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
This grant is part of a much larger grant. This portion supplies the books for the program. All teachers to participate in a shared reading experience which provides a foundation for work on diversity, equity, and inclusion with Jermaine Moore in the 20/21 school year. District, $5000
Spring 2020, Reinforcing Math, Literacy and STEM with More to Explore Tubs
This grant funds the purchase of supplies for More to Explore Tubs for the EES 3rd graders. These allow students to engage seamlessly in a morning routine designed to foster creativity and problem solving skills through fun and engaging hands-on activities. EES, $3163.42
Spring 2020, The NEW Great American Novel
This grant supports the procurement of “The Nickel Boys” for use with the 11th grade students. This program is to dives into issues and to provides a historical background to better understand the social justice issues of today. MHS, $2233
Spring 2020, E(Eliot)-Mail
This grants sets up a post office at EES. This provides a mail method for students to safely interact and feel connected to their school community beyond their immediate cohort and without screen time. EES, $661.71
Spring 2020, Social Skills Library for Learners with Social, Emotional and Behavioral needs
This grant helps to build a library of social skills books for EES. Teachers to match books to students for specific social skill targeting. EES, $684
Spring 2020, Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You
This grant funds the purchase the book “Stamped” to be used by the 8th graders for both ELA & Social Studies. MMS, $2374
Spring 2020, Osmo - Interactive Learning for Kindergarten
This grant helped to fund the pilot program for implementing Osmo into the Kindergarten classrooms at CES. CES, $1000
Fall 2009, Junk 2 Funk
Bring local artist and educator Jeff Erwin to the school for a six-day residency in which all students will create and play original music using instruments made from recycled materials, learning about the creative and technological aspects of performance art, environmental science, and the science of sound. CES. $1500
Fall 2009, Personal Fitness Expansion
The funds allowed Gardner and the school’s Recycling Club to purchase three 80W photo voltaic panels for the school’s greenhouse, enhancing the energy curriculum as well as feeding electricity to three science classrooms. MHS, $1500
